POCO C71: Budget Smartphone with Big Display & Long Battery

POCO is going to launch its new entry-level smartphone, POCO C71 in India on 4 April 2025. This phone is being described as the successor of POCO C61 which was launched in March 2024. This phone has been specially designed for those users who are looking for a cheap and good smartphone so that they can comfortably do daily tasks like calling, messaging, web browsing and social media without any hassle. This phone will be available on Flipkart and its price is expected to be around Rs. 7000, which can be a good option for budget-conscious people.

Design and Build Quality

If talk about the design and build quality of this phone, then this phone comes with a plastic body that has a dual-tone split grid design. This phone will be available in three colours Cool Blue, Desert Gold and Power Black. It has an IP52 rating, which protects it from light dust and water. The textured panel at the back gives a good grip and there is no risk of the phone slipping. Its fingerprint sensor is side-mounted, which makes unlocking the phone even easier.

Display

It has a 6.88-inch LCD display that supports HD+ resolution (1600 × 720 pixels). The phone comes with a 120Hz refresh rate, which makes scrolling and animations smoother. The 240Hz touch sampling rate makes the touch response even faster, especially for gaming. The display on the phone comes with TÜV Rheinland certification, which ensures low blue light and flicker-free technology so that there is less stress on the eyes. The display also comes with wet touch support, which allows it to work well even in rain and humid conditions.

Performance and Storage

The phone is powered by Unisoc T7250 chipset with an octa-core processor having an AnTuTu score of 300,000+, which means it can handle daily tasks like browsing, streaming, and light gaming with ease. It comes with 4GB/6GB of RAM that supports an additional 4GB/6GB of virtual RAM, taking the total to 8GB/12GB. There are 64GB and 128GB storage options, and up to 2TB of expandable storage is supported. This feature is best for people who like to keep more photos, videos, and apps.

Camera Features

The POCO C71 comes with a dual-camera setup with a 32MP primary sensor. This camera has the capability to take decent photos during the day and it has features to enhance colour and sharpness. You will also get options like Night Mode, HDR and Portrait Mode which will help you to take good pictures in different lighting conditions.

For selfies and video calls, there is an 8MP front camera which is placed in a waterdrop-style notch. It also has beautification features which make selfies even better.

Battery and Charging

POCO C71 has a big battery of 5200mAh which can last for two days on a single charge, depending on usage. It supports 15W wired charging through USB-C port. According to Poco, the battery of this phone will retain its 80% capacity even after 3 years, which shows its long-term reliability.

Along with this, it also has a 3.5mm headphone jack which is a very good thing, the feature is missing in the phones being launched these days. The 3.5mm headphone jack is a plus point for users who use wired earphones.

Connectivity and Sensors

The phone supports dual 4G SIM, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0. Location tracking features like GPS, A-GPS and GLONASS are also available. There is no 5G support, which may disappoint those looking for a future-proof device. Talking about sensors, it also has an accelerometer, proximity sensor and gyroscope, which are useful for gaming.

Final Verdict on POCO C71

POCO C71 is a budget-friendly smartphone that offers a combination of good display, large battery backup, and expandable storage. This is best for students, first-time smartphone users and people who are looking for a simple and reliable phone. The camera is also decent for this price range and with Android 15 updates, it will be good for long-term use as well.

Yes, it does not have 5G and fast charging, but these compromises can be expected in this budget. If you are looking for a phone that comes with a big battery, a good display and the latest software updates under Rs 7000, then POCO C71 can be a solid choice.
